The Community and Disability Services Ministerial Advisory Council (CDSMAC) has funded the development of a new community services website and discussion forum.  The website, titled the “ Community Workforce Village ” is an important step in meeting staffing challenges, and building a highly skilled community services workforce to meet the needs of Australians now and into the future.

The website and discussion forum has been developed as a public site open to government and non-government employers and the broader community and provides the community services sector with an open forum for sharing and exchanging ideas on workforce management strategies.  Sectors targeted include children's' services, child safety, disability services, juvenile justice and other community services.

The website and forum specifically target the community services workforce through:

  • the sharing of resources relating to the challenges facing the community services sector;
  • facilitation and learning across jurisdictions; and
  • informal sharing of concerns and discussions regarding trailed solutions.

Please access the Community Workforce Village website at www.communityworkforcevillage.org and contribute to the discussion forum, network with other community service providers and access current research papers.
